This walking tour will include Europe's largest medieval square and St Mary's Church with its famous altar
designed by Veit Stoss. Every hour the bugle calls from the tower of the church and ends suddently
as a memory of the archer who killed the trumpeteer in 1241. In the middle of the
square you find the Cloth Hall, a Medieval structure used for centuries by
tradesmen and merchants.
The Royal Route lead us passed monasteries, churches and small quaint streets to
the foot of Wawel Hill and the Royal Castle, a splendid renaissance building, with a beautiful three-story arcaded courtyard. Inside, the decoration of the Sala Poselska is unique with its 30 sculptured wooden heads in the ceiling. The castle exhibits a large and rare collection of tapestries, furniture, art and paintings.
The tour starts outside St. Mary's church at 13.30 hrs. Good walking shoes are recommended.
