Cyprus

Cyprus is an attractive island, with rugged coastlines, sandy beaches, rocky hills and forest-covered mountains. The stunning Troodos Mountains with Mount Olympus rising to almost 2000 m (6,400 ft) offers a chance to enjoy hiking, cycling, bird watching and, in winter, skiing.

Akamas National Park is the place to see unspoilt nature. It's here that protected loggerhead turtles return to beautiful Lara Bay each year to lay their eggs.

 

The island is filled with history with venetian walls, Crusader castles and Roman mosaics appearing at every turn. The opening of the border with Northern

  Cyprus is a reminder of its recent political past. Cyprus is now part of EU and is a modern country, its stone villages, glitzy resorts, scented citrus groves and perfumed mountains are waiting to be discovered.

 

Paphos

Paphos is rich in ancient sites, in particular a cluster of UNESCO-listed Roman villa remains near the harbour, among them the House of Dionysos and the Villa of Theseus, and the Tombs of the Kings.
